Tung Chung to Tai O

Hello My Dear Great Ones,

The Tung Chung to Tai O ancient trail is a must do in Hong Kong. It took me ten years to finally do it, but I am glad I did. The sights on the trail are varied and interesting. Old run down houses, villages, dramatic coast lines, and the most incredible bridge in the world are all part of the experience. Celia and I had a Friday afternoon off so we embarked on our little adventure about 1:00 pm from Tung Chung and got to Tai O around 5 o'clock. Here are a few things we encountered:

Ancient buildings.

Lots of trees and vegetation.

Great views.

Giant Buddha gondola.

Interesting villages.

Some tough trails. A good test for my wonky knee.

At A Hong Kong Icon

Hello My Dear Great Ones,

Celia and I spent the first of January, 2021, on the Peak. It was a clear beautiful day and you could see for Kms. Lots of people had the same idea and it was packed. Hong Kong has been in the news for much too long for the wrong reasons. Yet, up on the Peak on a clear day it was beautiful to behold. Hong Kong has taken a beating but it keeps on ticking. It is still beautiful and truly one of the greatest places on Earth. While I don't believe I will ever settle here permanently, it is for now, home, and I am glad about that.

HK Christmas 2020

Hello My Dear Great Ones,

Well after 10 years I finally did it. I had a Christmas in Hong Kong. Usually I'm snorkelling in the Philippines. Thankfully the weather was ok in HK and remains so. Covid hovers around 70 people a day. Yet despite not being able to travel there are people to visit IN HK (fellow banned travellers) and skype/zoom/email also help. Celia and I hope, despite everything, that you find much to be thankful for. Our post covid reunions, gatherings, visits will be that much sweeter.
