A Hero

Terry Fox quotes:
I guess that one of the most important things I've learned is that nothing is ever completely bad. Even cancer. It has made me a better person. It has given me courage and a sense of purpose I never had before. But you don't have to do like I did...wait until you lose a leg or get some awful disease, before you take the time to find out what kind of stuff you're really made of. You can start now. Anybody can.

I don’t feel that this is unfair. That’s the thing about cancer. I’m not the only one, it happens all the time to people. I’m not special. This just intensifies what I did. It gives it more meaning. It’ll inspire more people. I just wish people would realize that anything’s possible if you try; dreams are made possible if you try.

The Terry Fox exhibit in Victoria is a must see.

God Bless You all!

Have a great week!

Bloomin in Victoria, Snowin in Calgary

My Dear Great Ones,
Ahh Canada in the spring.  Celia and I got to experience it first hand last week.  The contrasts were......interesting.  In Victoria it blooms with a smattering of rain and sun.  Meanwhile in Calgary?  Ahh...brown, with a smattering of wet snow.  Love Canada. Love the people most of all.  But the weather?  Sigh....  I have perpetual summer here in HK.  It is very easy to get used to....

Here is a sampling of spring in Victoria:

And here is Calgary...

 Have a great week everyone!

Seals!

Hello My Dear Great Ones,
Celia and I took a blitz visit to Victoria and Calgary this past week.  So there will be plenty to blog about in the next few weeks.  One of the things we saw were seals at the Fisherman's Wharf in Victoria.  I found them so interesting that they deserve special attention.  The seals are harbour seals and they were intelligent enough to put on a little show for the humans who rewarded them with bits of fish.  Cheeky seagulls were also alert to this throwing of fish from people and intercepted a few making the seal feeding more entertaining.

A must see!  Harbour seal show!

Have a great week.

Some More Views from Tai Mo Shan

My Dear Great Ones,
Tai Mo Shan, big foggy mountain, is awesome and to live at the foot of it is awesome.  Last Saturday, on a relatively clear day, Celia and I journeyed up to the top and walked back down to our house.  It was AWESOME!

Here is proof:

Looking out to Yuen Long.

The road up is spectacular.  Biked it up once.  Very tough!

Many of the trees were turning color.  Huh!?  Not sure why but was nice to see.

 Looking out to Tsuen Wan.

Way in the distance is Victoria harbour and Hong Kong.

To the right and back is Lantau Island.

The walk near the top of Tai Mo Shan is wonderful.

 Celia taking multitudes of pictures.

 Great rock formations.

Note the people on the rock.

Below is Shing Mun reservoir where we live.

The trail down reminded me of Alberta.

Have a great week everyone!

Love adios and ping on!
