Selfie Dirk

selfie (/sɛlf/)[1] is a self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a smartphonewhich may be held in the hand or supported by a selfie stick. Selfies are often shared on social networking services such as FacebookInstagram and Snapchat. They are for vanity, usually flattering, and are casual in nature (or made to appear casual). "Selfie" typically refers to self-portrait photos taken with the camera held at arm's length, as opposed to those taken by using a self-timer or remote. A selfie, however, need not include a sole individual. "Selfies" may include multiple subjects as long as the picture is actually being taken by one of the subjects featured in the photo.

Hello My Dear Great Ones,

Celia's Drone

My Dear Great Ones,
Celia got herself a drone a few months ago.   She has had a lot of fun with it and taken some amazing shots.  Here is a small sample:

The following pictures were taken by Sok kwa wan, Lamma island.

Pretty sweet!  Have a great week.

Love adios and ping on!

Up on Tai Ma Shan

My Dear Great Ones,
Tai Ma Shan, Big Foggy Mountain, is a great place on a clear day.  Last Tuesday it was Buddha's birthday and we had a day off.  I am not a Buddha fan, but I am a fan of a day off. Here are a few pics and video from our time there.

Looking towards mainland China.
The plant life up on Tai Mo Shan is great.
A great place to take a wedding picture.  This group were taking shots at sunset with Tsing Ma bridge which connects Lantau with Kowloon in the background.

Wow.

Looking down at Kowloon (Tsuen Wan district) with Hong Kong island in the background.

That's me perched on a rock admiring the view.

Many great views......

The tall silver building is the ICC building...the World's 11th tallest building.  The top floors of the building are a hotel...  The Ritz.

Here is Celia playing with her drone.   Check out the videos below.  We now have an ordinary camera, two phones, a Go Pro, and a drone to take pictures.
The drone can go really far and high.  5000 meters and go 10 km.  WOW!  Celia doesn't fly it that far though.  Here Celia is getting ready to fly.  The drone is on the rock..

The drone sounds like a giant mosquito, but for its small size takes great pictures and flies far and long.

Last week I went on a short bike ride near our place at sunset and got a few shots of Tsuen Wan.

Have a great week!
Love adios and ping on!

Some People

Dear Great Ones,
During our trip to Israel and Jordan the Celias' and I saw some very interesting people.  Here are a few (note some are repeats from older blog entries):

Peddler trying to sell his goods in the desert.

Lovely woman of the desert.

Need some Olives?  This is the guy to get some olives.

Some cool motorcycle dudes.

Fundamental Jews on their way to the old city of Jerusalem.

A busker near the old city of Jerusalem.

A congregation of pilgrims.

Some older people taking a time out in the old city.

Despite the tourists this man focussed on his reading of Scripture.

Old wise man.
Seeing peaceful religious people with gun toting soldiers is common place in Israel.

Typical scene in Jerusalem.

By the wailing wall.

People hanging out near the gates of the Old City of Jerusalem.

In and near the Holy Church of the Sepulcher.

The many faces of Jordan.

This swarthy cowboy provided horseback rides near Petra.
This man stood guard near Petra.
This man provided some info while on the way to the Petra site.  For a few bucks of course.
This guy was relaxing on the way to Petra.
Camels and the camel handlers did a cracking business at Petra.

This guy helped us tour Wadi Rum.
Bedouins of Wadi Rum.

Back in the Old City of Jerusalem.

The many faces of Israel on a bus.

Finally a vendor selling some goods.

Great trips always have great people.

Have a great week.

Love adios and ping on!
