Hello Everyone,
I am hearing that Alberta is experiencing a bit of snow and cold these days. If it makes you feel any better it was kind of cold here too. Plus 10 and a little windy. Unlike yesterday I had to wear some pants. Oh no. This weekend I just took a little excursion to the flower/bird/ladies market. There is also a fish market nearby, but I decided to forgo it. These markets are a couple of blocks each and are all very interesting. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
Chinese New Year is on its way. From what I hear it is a big deal and there are decorations everywhere. The set up in my complex has a drum, which I am sure every kid in the Sky Tower has hit at least three times each. Great thing about Chinese New Years is that I get a week off. Pretty sweet.
I won't be here though for Chinese New Years. I'll be spending some time with my brother Sven in Doha, Qatar. He works at a hospital there so it will be fun and interesting to see him and the sites. Stay tuned for that blog.
Anyways I was told that around the four or fifth month of being here that you would feel some pangs of homesickness. I have to admit that I am feeling it and I'm glad I'll be seeing family in my brother and Eli in April and Elsie from May to August. That will help a great deal.
Thanks for your emails and the Skype times. They have become gold to me. I really appreciate it. God bless you all.
Adios,
Dirk
