My Dear Great Ones,
Last Saturday, April 4, I had a great day. Finally, after two and half years of being together, I married my Celia. We exchanged our vows on a beautiful, albeit rather hot day, under the pink blossoms at the back of the Gold Coast Hotel. Over 60 family and friends came to witness, cheer, pray and celebrate our wedding. Before our pastor, Andrew Gardener, married us off he spoke about 1 John 4:19. Like Andrew, and most of our friends and family, we all agree that God is love and that He indeed loves us first. His love for us comes through in so many ways: sending his son Jesus, His Holy Spirit, the Bible, and encouragement from family and friends. Celia and I are grateful for the Lord's love for us and we believe He brought us together. We believe, like Bonhoeffer, that love will not sustain a marriage, but marriage will sustain love. In other words Celia and I believe in Holy Matrimony and are committed and thankful to God for our marriage.
Thank you to all who have provided support and prayed for us. We are in your debt always.
God bless you,
Love, adios, and ping on!

Two days before our "real wedding," Celia and I had to get legally hitched at a marriage registry. It was a rather sterile, technical occasion getting married off by the government. In 15 minutes Celia and I were "technically married."
Our "witnesses," most of them came without the required ID to make them legitimate witnesses, but nevertheless they provided warmth and laughter and made the technical ceremony memorable. Later we feasted.
1 John 4:19 "We love because He first loved us."

Pastor Andrew. My hand is grabbing a rag to wipe the sweat off my brow. It was a hot day!
