Book Character Day

Hello My Dear Great Ones,
One of the great highlights of working at the primary level is having dress up days.  Kids and adults have a lot of fun dressing up and playing the part that their costume inspires.  It is also interesting to observe that even at a very young age boys and girls are very clear on gender roles.  Guys are such things as ninja tuttles, ironmen, and spidermen, while the gals are princesses and Elsas from Frozen.  The day wrecks havoc with my PE class as the girls' high heels and dresses don't work well with dodgeball, and the boys have trouble tracking balls aimed for their heads while wearing spiderman masks.  Yet, it is not every day so one just smiles, goes with the flow, and takes a heap of pictures.

Not sure who he is supposed to be, but whatever, his costume is pretty flashy.

Teenage ninja turtle, or actually in this case prepubescent ninja turtle.

Captain America got his shield confiscated due to misuse on the playground and thus he is rather sad and disappointed and guilty.

Mini Messi.
Head of the class.
Good and Bad Spiderman.

White cat.

Count dracula.

Princesses.
A happy smile.

Princess Elsa.

Another princess.

Robin Hood.
Snow white or Cinderella?  I was informed quite vehemently by a swarm of princess experts that this is Snow White.

These girls are all named Elsa.
Now we are talking. The playground is safe with these avengers insuring its protection.
Aye matey.

Don't mess with me buddy.

Dress up day.  Awesome.  Next week:  pics from Jakarta.

Love adios and ping on!

Dirk
