Our time in San Francisco was an interesting one to say the least. There are many interesting things to see and do in and around the city. The architecture of the buildings, Lombard street, the cable cars, Golden Gate Park, Golden Gate Bridge, Muir woods, Sonoma Valley, the bike trails the colorful murals, Fisherman's Wharf, and even the baseball stadium are all great. And finally the people in SF, at least most of them, are very nice. Yet there is a sad, dark side to SF. Read Romans 1 and you will get what I am talking about. The amount of homeless people living in despair in SF is staggering. It was hard to ignore and the utter tragedy of seeing such hopelessness in a land of wealth and plenty was tough. So pray for San Francisco. Pray for those trying to help the homeless, pray that more people will get on board to truly help the lost in SF. And there are many.
Police on motorbikes clearing out a public park taken over by the homeless. So sad!
Fisherman's Wharf is a rather posh place for tourists and the relatively well to do. It is also a place for those who desperately need help.
So sad!
Street corners had fat pigeons, and often some very sad people.
Homeless people waiting to get into a shelter.
There were some who tried to give a message of hope and encouragement to the homeless. Sadly, like this lady holding her ears, it was not well received.
On a brighter note this man was playing drums using buckets.
Some of the murals were fantastic:
The variety of transport and the opportunity to bike were great:
Houses were quaint:
The bay area has some amazing bridges and is home to the baseball World Champions:
San Francisco Giants.
Have a great week everyone! Our summer journey continues in Canada!
Love adios and ping on!
