It Is A Little Different Here

Hello My Dear Great Ones,
Hong Kong is full of interesting food markets and shops.  The cuisine here is amazing and I have acquired a taste for a lot of it.  However I do have limit.  For example dried seafood, Hong Kong sausage, and dried lizard on a stick has not been sampled by yours truly.  The pictures below may gave you ample reasons as to why not. Yet maybe some day, after a beer or two, I might sample dried squid.  Many times throughout my life, after giving a certain dish a thumbs down due to how it looks and smells, I have taken a chance, a tentative, reluctant bite, and ended up really liking it.  Marzipan being a prime example.  I used to hate it now I love it.  Anyway, like I mentioned above, Hong Kong has an amazing variety of food and like its amazing country parks and beaches should be promoted more by the tourism board.

Dried seafood stores like these can be found all over Hong Kong.  The wares that they sell are a delight to the eyes, interesting and colorful, but an assault to the nose.  The dried "delicacies," stink to put it delicately.

With rents high for store space, every nook and cranny, plus the ceiling is used to peddle the goods.
Store owner chilling with his cat and i phone.

Not seafood, but a special treat. Lizards on a stick.  Yummm.
 Squid.  Yummm.
Powdered squid and cut up fish.  Yummmmy.
The display of the food stuffs is interesting.

 Dried fish.
Not sea food, but at this shop as an extra bonus they offered: Lap Chong.  Very fatty pork sausage.  Usually sweet.  Hmm I think I will stick with a German wurstal.

Dried shrimp,  fish, abalone and other delights.

Well bon appetit everyone.  Have a great week.

Love adios and ping on!

Dirk
