Shuswap Lake

My Dear Great Ones,
Trees and plants emit aromatic compounds called phytoncides that, when inhaled can spur healthy biological changes in a manner similar to aromatherapy, which has also been studied for its therapeutic benefits.  In other words plants and trees release compounds that protect them from pests; when humans inhale those compounds it promotes healthy-and measurable biological changes. Namely relief for health issues like heart disease, depression, cancer, anxiety, high blood pressure and attention disorders.  Beautiful forests can also increase "awe," which benefits psychological health.  Namely one feels less entitled, less selfish, and it helps one to be more generous and helpful to others.  It also lowers inflammatory compounds in the body.  You combine all the above with a swimmable fresh water lake, sunshine, healthy food and most importantly interaction with happy, unstressed, family members whose agenda is to enjoy time with you in the splendor of an awe inspiring natural environment, well my goodness, all one can say is:  it's all good!
That is Shuswap Lake for me.  As a kid I enjoyed the above benefits immensely.  Amazing how a simple camping experience in an astounding mixed forest of giant cedars, spruce, etc by a beauty of a lake can be so healthy.  Celia and I spent a few days at Shuswap Lake this summer and enjoyed its great therapeutic benefits.  It also brought back sweet memories from @1970 and as you will see below there have been a few changes over the last 46 years at Shuswap, but thankfully not too many.
