Hong Kong Wetland Park

Howdy,
I hear it is a tad chilly back in Alberta.  Do I dare say it was about plus 25 today, actually almost a little too hot.  Sure I dare cause I am here and you are there.  Hopefully you will forget these little low blows when I return cause I am due for a pie in the face or at least a snowball.  Ouch there I did again.  Sorry. This week I went with my PE 10's for a day to Tung Lung island.  It is on the way out of Victoria Harbor and is famous for excellent rock climbing cliffs that jut out into the South China Sea.  Pretty spectacular.  The kids had to do all these survival type activities, one of them was repelling off a hundred foot cliff.  With some pressure from the kids I put my faith in a very slender line and plunged into a rocky abyss and survived, obviously.  It was an excellent moment that I won't ever forget.  Next week I should have some photo proof as well.
Today I took a rather lengthy train ride into the new territories to Tuen Mun and visited the Hong Kong Wetlands Park.  It was pretty decent.  Saw some interesting creatures and enjoyed a walk around a well organized and maintained park.  As you can see from the pictures there are several huge apartment buildings that border this park.  I still am amazed at the amount and size of these buildings, but how else do you cram almost 8 million people in a tiny area and still have lots of nature.
So once again, as usual, I experienced something different and unique this week.  What a great place Hong Kong is and I am grateful for how unique and interesting it is.  Till next week folks.

Adios,

Dirk
